Project Overview

In June 2021, The Lytton Creek wildfire destroyed many of the town’s residences and facilities. There was an urgent need in the community for immediate healthcare facilities. To assist the community, Fort Modular constructed a temporary healthcare clinic. This temporary facility provides primary care physician and nursing services, mental health and substance use services, and home and public health services.

The clinic consists of four 11’-9” x 60’ modules side-by-side for a total building area of 2,880 sq ft. The clinic will be located on this site for approximately 2-3 years. The design responds to the requirements and standards of Interior Health and was designed for the needs of the health staff and the comfort of the patients. To this end, the building is fully accessible both inside and out.

The building was also designed for easy relocation to any future municipalities in need. Modular construction methods allowed for a seamless process, providing enhanced speed and cost savings when compared to site-built construction. Building elements such as a temporary surface foundation and functional interior trims were all details that were considered to provide little to no effort in disassembling the building and delivering it to the next destination.
